Frank’s Kiwiana Dream
Frank has a dream. A very far faraway and misty green sort of dream.
He dreams of a place abound with open roads, rolling hills, friendly souls and where the land offers eternal biking bliss.
A place that’s a tad metro chic, a touch fairy breeding ground and a whole lotta Lothlórien!
Frank’s dream is MEGA AWESOME.
Frank’s dream is … NEW ZEALAND!
Project Frank
On December 19th of the year 2010, Frank and I will be heading to New Zealand for 3 weeks of touring hedonism through the country’s fabled Central North Island region. A veritable mecca of biking wonder and delight, New Zealand’s Central NI promises Frank and me miles of beautiful coastline, rugged forest trails and perhaps the odd sulphuric hallucination or two.
The fine folks at Downunder Travel gave us our flight HOOK-UP!
Alas, Frank and I have much work to do before setting sail for Aotearoa. Despite his OBVIOUS old man strength, Frank requires some serious fine tuning to ready him for the challenges that lie ahead.
Fortune favours the brave my boy!
But fear not dear reader for Frank and I have a plan!
In the weeks that follow, we will employ old fashioned sweat equity to transform his aged frame into something worthy of the grandest of NZ biking adventures. With mighty toolbox in overdrive, we will bid adieu to Frank’s tired commuter wears and dodgy components to make room for all manner of necessary touring gear. THIS shall be our valiant mission. His successful rise to stealthy long-haul biking beast OUR VICTORY!
Oh yes, it will take courage.
It will take dedication.
It will take loads of DUCT tape.
Behold the second coming of Frank!

Happy Trails! But watch out for sheep on the road!
Thanks Candis … and thanks for getting our trip booked so quickly!
Ya girl! Sounds like an amazing adventure! I went mountain biking in Kauai a couple weeks ago. It was a blast but the heat and humidity added a different dimension to the usual pain. You should bring Kika to town in the spring and we will rip up some Bragg Creek or Canmore trails! Cheers.
Get out! I’ll have to check out FB to see if you have piccies posted yet. Canmore / Bragg sounds awesome … a trip home will be in order this spring/summer for sure!
